Aligarh: The “US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2019” has placed the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on the second rank among all Indian universities, in its “Best Global Universities Ranking 2019”, the university officials said.
According to the agency, AMU’s Department of Mathematics is ranked first among all universities and institutions in India, and 154th in the world, with a subject score of 46.9.
Similarly, the world ranking body has placed the biological and biochemistry studies [Life Science] in AMU as best among Indian universities and institutions with a score of 35 and a world ranking of 294.
Further, the US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2019 has also ranked AMU’s Department of Physics at 465th, and the Department of Chemistry at 518th, among the best global universities, worldwide.
In 2018, the US News Education Best Global Universities Rankings had placed the AMU Department of Mathematics at the 129th position, had given the 305th rank in the world for studying Biology and Bio-Chemistry, and the 460th rank for studying Physics.
US News Education monitors higher education data for the world’s research-led institutions.
