Dubai Police honours Indian expatriate Ayan Younis for honesty

Dubai

Mohammed Ayan Younis was with his father in a market place of Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) when he found a watch.

He took it to the Dubai Police and told them to find its owner and return it to him.

Ayan Younis’s honesty touched everyone’s heart. Under the direction of the Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, the Dubai Tourist Police Department honoured him.

The Dubai Tourist Police confirmed that the watch belonged to a foreign tourist who had reported it missing and had left for his country before it was found by Younis.

Police contacted him and have since parceled the watch to him. Police said the particular tourist has expressed satisfaction at the high level of security and integrity in Dubai.

Director of Tourist Police Department, Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al-Jalaf, along with his deputy, Lt. Col. Muhammad Abdul Rahman, and Head of the Tourist Happiness Section, Captain Shahab Al-Saadi presented the award to the Indian child in recognition of his commendable initiative.

Brigadier Al Jalaf said the child’s behavior reflected the high ethical standards and security prevalent in the UAE, particularly in its key tourism sector.

He encouraged members of the community to be inspired by Muhammad’s example of honesty and use the lost and found services at Smart Police Stations (SPS), the process of returning lost properties to their owners.
