Inter-faith bonding acts as bulwark during crisis

An instantaneous and profound reaction by the people of India beyond religious boundaries, over killing of paramilitary personnel in Fidayeen attack at Pulwama has once again proved that India’s inter-faith bonding/syncretic culture would remain intact, besides providing a fortification against country’s antagonists in any emergency.

Following some instances of reassuring Kashmiri Muslims outside the state of safety and shelter by Hindus i.e. around 150 Kashmiri Muslim students were provided lodging/boarding in the house of their Hindu colleague (Dehradun, Uttarakhand), Hindus opened doors for Kashmiris (Patna, Bihar), Kashmiri traders were assured of protection and safe passage to their homes (Hyderabad, Telangana), Dargah Gareeb Nawaz urges Muslims to isolate/expose terrorists and their harbors (Ajmer, Rajasthan), Kashmiri peddlers provided shelter and food (Chandigarh, Punjab) corroborate human concern from one community to other in need which is in the heart of India’s cultural heritage.
