Al Haqeeqa
As news trickled in that Ahle Hadith, an Ultra-Orthodox Sunni Muslim sect that practices Salafist brand of Islam, is all set to declare the ISIS or Daesh as it is known in Arabic and its terror tactics as un Islamic, the mind immediately goes to what the Prophet said
“The Extremists have perished, the extremists have perished, the extremists have perished”.
This is probably the first time that a sect based on Salafism is about to declare the Daesh as unIslamic. Many experts consider Salafism to be the ideological foundation of organizations like Al-Qaeda, ISIS among others. So this declaration is deemed to be historic.
The Holy Quran clearly states
“Whoever takes a life unjustly, it would be as though he killed all of Humanity and whoever saved a life, it would be as though he saved all Humanity”.
Here the Prophet guides
“Beware of being extreme and exceeding the limits of religion, for that which destroyed the people before you was none other than extremism in the religion”
These 2 statements takes the wind out of the sails of ISIS/ Daesh’s theological propaganda . The extraordinary suffering that ISIS has been inflicting on Citizens in areas under its Control, its brutal killings of captured Prisoners of War or its treatment of Women , the treatment of Yazidi refugees, all , violate the edicts of The Holy Quran as well as the Prophets guidance and the very basic tenets of Islam.
A lot of impressionable youth today are misguided by the theological propaganda that ISIS has unleashed using Social Media and other forms of communication that’s popular with the youth. Akhtarul Wassey , the former head of Islamic Studies of Jamia Milia Islamia emphasizes that the first duty should be to follow the law of the land when he says “I think it’s our Constitution, our judiciary and civil society which are great avenues of justice. This makes the Indian Islamic model the only pragmatic and workable model…”
Akhtarul Wassey’s statements only echo what, The Prophet, has asked of his followers
“It is necessary upon a Muslim to listen to and obey the ruler, obliged to follow the law of the land i.e a balanced and moderate nation”.
A point to note is Ahle Hadith has over 40000 madrasas affiliated to it. When such a large ultra orthodox sect has decides to declare Daesh/ISIS and its terror activities as unislamic, it only reflects what The Prophet said
“The Extremists have perished, the extremists have perished, the extremists have perished”.
