New Delhi: Expressing his grief on the horrific rape and murder of an eight-year-old in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua, Union minister VK Singh demanded justice and tweeted “we have failed her as humans”.

VK Singh is the first cabinet minister who has raised voice against this grave crime. In a tweet he demanded such punishment to the perpetrators that could be remembered for generations.

It must be noted that the rape-and-murder of the nomadic Muslim Bakerwal community girl sparked outrage and led to large-scale protests in the state. The girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged, raped inside a place of worship before being killed.
