13 Muslims among 434 successful candidates of UPPSC exams

Shana Akhtar Mansoori is the only Muslim candidate who will become a deputy collector

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Thursday the result of Provincial Civil Services (PCS) Examination 2019. A total of 434 candidates have been selected for different civil service posts including the post of Deputy Collector.

As many as 13 Muslims are among those who have qualified the examination while only Muslim candidate has bagged the post of deputy collector, in which there were 46 posts on offer this year.

Shana Akhtar Mansoori, who is the daughter of a municipal clerk from Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur district, is the only Muslim candidate to have been appointed as a deputy collector.

Five successful Muslim candidates, Saadullah Khan, Tanveer Ahmad, Mobeen Ahmad, Mohammad Amaan and Arsalan ur Rasheed will be posted as Nayab Tehsildar.

On the other hand, Shumra Ansari, Aftab Alam and Ali Adnan have been selected for the post of Deputy Jailor.

Mohd Junaid Khan has been selected for the post of Accounts & Audit Officer, Mandi Parishad whereas Fazal Hussain will be appointed to the post of Legal Officer (PWD).

KM Erum and Sheeraz Malik will work as Sr Sugar Cane Development Inspector.

Vishal Saraswat from Mathura from Mathura district has topped the examinations. Yugantar Tripathi from Prayagraj was ranked second in the state service examinations.

A significant number of women candidates have qualified the examinations. 128 (or 29.49 per cent) women candidates were selected for different positions in the state, with 13 of them bagging the coveted posts of deputy collectors.
