CBSE paper leak: Is arrested ABVP leader Satish Pandey behind the scandal ?

NEW DELHI: In a new twist to the CBSE paper leak scandal, the Jharkhand police on Saturday have arrested 12 people from Chatra, including an ABVP office bearer.

Chatra SP Akhilesh B Variar said that Pankaj Singh and Satish Pandey, who run a coaching institute named Study Vision in Chatra, received the question papers a day before the scheduled date of examination, March 28. The duo swiftly prepared the answers and passed on to some students in return for hefty sums of money, Variar added.

“We have got evidence that the mathematics question papers were leaked in Patna and came to Chatra through WhatsApp. We have so far found no connection with Delhi. A probe is on to ascertain the first source of the leak,” said Variar.

Pandey is said to be a district convener of the ABVP which is an RSS-BJP affiliated students’ organisation.

In Delhi, Congress-backed students’ body NSUI staged a protest outside the ABVP office alleging that the latter’s office bearers were “caught leaking” CBSE exam papers in Jharkhand.

Congress-backed students’ body NSUI on Saturday staged a protest outside the ITO office of ABVP alleging that office-bearers of the RSS-affiliated students’ organisation were “caught leaking” CBSE exam papers in Jharkhand.

The NSUI alleged that a district convenor of the ABVP in Jharkhand whose name is Sathish Pandey has been booked in the CBSE question paper leak case.

“NSUI strongly condemns the double agenda of the ABVP who protested outside the CBSE office today, while their office-bearers are caught leaking papers via private coaching centres in Chatra, Jharkhand,” the Congress’ student’s said in a statement.

The ABVP termed the NSUI’s protests as an attempt to defame it and said the arrested persons has no association with it.
