Fatwa issued against doctor for promoting organ donation campaign

KANPUR: In a bizarre fatwa by Muslim clerics against a Muslim doctor, they allegedly asked a doctor to stop his organ donation campaign, saying that it is not allowed in Islam.

Donation of organs is against the will of Allah, said clerics. Dr. Arshad Mansuri, who has been slapped with fatwa, said he does not care about it and asserted that he will continue to serve the mankind.

“To serve mankind is the biggest religious duty,” he said.

Mansuri also alleged that he has been receiving threatening calls for his campaign from unknown people and he has filed a complaint against the police in this regard.
