Hindu-Muslim harmony in the country is profoundly reflected when senior Advocate Dr. Rajeev Dhavan, member of a renowned Hindu family represented the Muslim party in the RJB-BM title suit in the Supreme Court.
Maulana Abutalib Rahmani, member, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, showered praises on Dr. Rajeev Dhavan, who represented Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind & Muslim Personal Law Board in the BM title suit, without taking a single pie. Maulana Rahmani in a video interview stated that if any foreigner asked him about the identity of India, he would showcase the determination of Dr. Rajeev Dhavan in fighting the title suit for the Muslim parties against the Hindu parties.
- Separately, Muslim leaders like Maulana Mehboob Daryadi, Gen Secy, All India Ulema Council and Maulana Syed Athar Ali, Member, executive body, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, have stated on different occasions that they would respect the court decision, whatever it will be. Similar views were also echoed by Shabbir Somji, senior member, Khoja Shia Jamaat, Maulana Umar Ahmed llyasi, Chairman, All India Imams organization and Mohammad Rafiq, State President Jamat-e-lslami Hind, AP. Speaking on an occasion, Mohammad Rafiq opined that irrespective of the judgement, Hindus and Muslims should do their best to maintain communal harmony in the country. He further stated that local bodies should form good-will committees, so as to deter any conflict arising after the RJB-BM verdict.
