BENGALURU: Despite all rhetoric and attempts for communal polarization by BJP, the ruling Congress party is going to retain the power, says the largest survey conducted by India Today – Axis My India covering 223 out of 224 Assembly constituencies. Polling was held in entire Karnataka today.

As per the prediction, Congress will get 106-118 seats. It has 70% chance to form the government alone. BJP will finish at No. 2 with 79-92 seats and JDS of former prime minister Deve Gowda will be restricted to anywhere between 22-30 seats.

According to the survey, Congress has done well in the Mysore and Hyderabad Karnataka regions where 104 Assembly seats went to polls.

Congress had won the previous Assembly elections in the state in 2013 by bagging 122 of 224 seats.
