Kathua Case: BJP lawmaker says CM Mufti should resign rather than bringing the accused to account

Jammu: The saffron party in India is now caught in controversies for lending their support towards their alleged party members which has called for public outrage, who does not seem to forget or let go of these child assault crimes as easily as compared to what minority communities have been subjected to recently in the BJP reign.

BJP lawmaker Choudhary Lal Singh, on Tuesday, rallied in Kathua district’s stating the media has published false reports of the party members supporting the eight accused of Kathua rape and murder incident when it turns out he did attend a rally in support of the accused men in the crime.

The lawmaker seems to justify his cause by asking are the accused in any way wrong if they are demanding a Narco test.

“A disinformation campaign was launched by the media. We, the Dogras of Jammu were projected as pro-rapists. No one bothered to hear the grievance of the people. They are demanding a CBI probe and the accused demanded a narco test. Is it a crime?” said Singh while rallying in Kootah Morh in Kathua district.

What further emerges out is that including him one more BJP Minister had reportedly attended a radical organization Hindu Ekta Manch’s rally supporting the accused of Kathua case. Following which the two BJP Ministers Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga had to resign as ministers from Mehbooba Mufti’s government on Friday.

Singh had already accepted he did attend the rally of the Hindu Ekta Manch. But taking a jab at Mehbooba Mufti’s government he says the CM should have stepped down. Criticizing her he said, “If she has a conscience she should have resigned. She still has the time to save her image,” he said.

Now what remains as a question is, the accused in the crime are not accountable, saffron party members supporting them are not accountable but the state CM should step down from her position.

If that is, and, should be the outcome of these incidents, wonder who should step down from his position for all the recent consecutive child crimes in the nation.

No wonder the eight-year-old had a tragic death, but justice in India, when it comes to saving the alleged ruling party members, remains in denial.

The innocent Muslim girl was abducted while she was grazing her family’s horses in January, and according to the reports and charge sheet submitted by the Police, the minor was held captive in a temple, sedated and raped repeatedly for a week before being hacked to death.

The brutal hideous act was carried out to instill fear in the hearts of the Muslim community and to drive them out of the region.
