In a dramatic turn of events, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s famed ‘Mama Ji’s Bulldozer’ received a new look as it rolled into action on Wednesday, with police, drums, and DJ tunes in tow.
The target of this operation was the demolition of a building belonging to three accused individuals from the Muslim community, who were alleged to have spat on devotees during the passage of the traditional ride of Baba Mahakal in Ujjain on the second Monday of Savan.
The incident had sparked outrage after a video of the alleged act went viral on social media and in the news.
Hindu organizations, including Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, were quick to respond, demanding strict action against the accused.
The Ujjain police registered a case against the three accused individuals, two of whom were minors, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Following the due process of law, the adult youth involved was sent to jail, while the minors were sent to the Child Sentiment Home by the District Court and the Children’s Court, respectively.
In response to mounting pressure and public outcry, the administration took decisive action against the identified encroachments in the area.
The ‘Mama Ji’s Bulldozer,’ accompanied by a sizable police force and personnel, descended upon Tinki Chowk in Ujjain and began demolishing the structures.
As the bulldozer moved through the area to execute the demolitions, the presence of drums and DJ tunes attracted widespread curiosity from onlookers.
The situation gained attention due to the significance of the place being predominantly Muslim.
The administration and police were present throughout the operation, ensuring a peaceful and orderly execution of the task.
The incident and the subsequent action come at a politically charged time, as Madhya Pradesh gears up for assembly elections later this year.
It should be noted that these events unfolded after the accused allegedly spat on devotees during the passage of the traditional ride of Baba Mahakal.
The accused had given their explanation, denying the intentional act and claiming that it was a result of a misunderstanding during a disagreement while washing after drinking water.
The situation remains sensitive, and authorities are monitoring developments closely to maintain peace and harmony in the region.
