Oldest Piligrim to perform Haj

Mariah Maghani Mohammed has become one of the oldest , to perform Haj. At 104, this Indonesian Citizen has been chosen to be part of two lakh twenty one thousand people from Indonesia to perform Haj this year. Indonesia has a waiting list of over one million waiting to perform Haj with the average wait being 6 years.
Mariah was welcomed at the airport with great fanfare on her arrival at the Red Sea City of Jeddah. Despite her age, Mariah is in good health and will be able to perform the rituals over a period of 6 days without any problems.
Haj started this year on August 30th with a gathering of over 2 million piligrims in the tent city of Mina on the outskirts of Makkah. The ascent on Mount Arafat, also near Makkah, will be on August 31 followed by Eid Al Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice celebrated by Muslims across the world, on September 1 or September 2 , depending on the location.
