Take a Look at These Photos from the #NoMuslimBanEver Rally

Written by Zayneb Almiggabber

Last Wednesday, Oct. 18, organizations, coalitions and allies from all over the country gathered in Washington, D.C., to say #NoMuslimBanEver–a mobilized in opposition to Muslim Ban 3.0, which was set to prevent citizens of many Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.

The day was particularly sweltering for mid-October and started before dawn for most, when hundreds of supporters showed up to the rally. Large groups of Yemeni and Iranian families–who are directly affected by this ban–closed their shops, took off from work or school, and came from places like New York and Michigan to attend. Among waving their flags proud marchers, speakers like Linda Sarsour and the organizers of the Women’s March also supported the movement.

Participants were elated to hear the day’s news–the morning of, a federal district court in Maryland in Maryland ruled a blocking against the ban on the grounds that it discriminates against Muslims. While many hope that this marks the end of the string of Muslim Ban legislation, it is likely that the ban will continue to be amended to prevent Muslim immigrants from entering the United States.

Nevertheless, Muslims and allies across the country will always find their way back to the streets where they once again show that a Muslim Ban is both unconstitutional and immoral. There will be #NoMuslimBan now, and #NoMuslimBanEver.

Here’s a roundup of images from the march, in case you missed it:
