There was no concept of secular education before Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University is the first institution to introduce secular and modern education in the world, before that no Islamic country or society had the concept of secular education. These views were expressed by Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad University Jodhpur Padma Shree Prof. Akhtarul Wasey. He was addressing as chief guest at the valedictory function of All India Sir Syed Memorial Debate organised by students union and literary club.

Mr Wasey said in AMU right from the inception of the college a club was formed in which students take part in the debate on current events. He said students union of Aligarh Muslim University is not just protesting institution, but we have taught them the manner to speak and listen. There’s is also speakers and writers club. The prize is given to the best speaker.
